Caring for Your Leather Strap
By The FWO Atelier · · 3 min read

Good leather develops a patina with wear. With a little care, a strap can last for many years.
1. Keep it dry
Water is the main cause of leather damage. Take your watch off before swimming or showering, and let a damp strap dry naturally, away from direct heat.
2. Let it rest
Rotating between two straps gives the leather time to breathe and recover its shape.
3. Condition it twice a year
Apply a small amount of neutral leather conditioner with a soft cloth to keep the fibres supple.
4. Avoid perfume and lotions
The oils and alcohol in these products can stain leather. Apply them before you put your watch on.
5. Store it flat
Store the watch flat in its box or a watch roll so the strap keeps its shape.
